When Book Larder, Seattle’s heavenly all-cookbook bookstore, emailed to ask if I’d like to have my Open Sesame launch party in their cute, colorful space, I had a Sally-Fields-at-the Oscars-in-1985 moment:
I have hosted cookbook author Q&As at Book Larder, listened to every episode of their podcast, and have adored the shop since it opened in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood more than a decade ago, so getting to introduce the world to my first cookbook in this special space? Mama mia!!!
OH HEY, DO YOU WANT TO COME?? I’d love to see your cute faces there.
When: November 13th, 2024 at 6:30pm

I love a friendship episode!
Talk show host and award winning journalist Tamron Hall, met chef and award winning culinary producer Lish Steiling working on the set of the Today Show, but their friendship really bloomed over many glasses of champagne, after Lish dragged Tamron to a bootcamp class in Central Park.
Tamron had lost her father, the heart and soul of her family’s eating traditions, and started asking Lish for cooking tips, hoping to warm up her own rarely used kitchen.
They just release a cookbook together, A Confident Cook, where you get priceless cooking tips from a James Beard Award winning chef and recipes that represent both their diverse upbringings and shared tastes.
It’s a lively one! Give it a listen!
Last night I got back from 17 days in Iceland & Seattle felt like a tropical island in comparison — give me heat, give me sunshine!
WAIT.
*Gets up from underneath gorgeous, needy cat to investigate the unmistakable sound of*
RAIN?!?!
It LITERALLY started raining the moment I typed “sunshine.”
Womp womp.
Welp. If you are lucky enough to have today off, and you’re in need of a cozy couch read, I just finished this new, excellent book by one of the world’s most talented weirdos, Miranda July.
