Top Chef Canada host Eden Grinshpan is the Queenie of Tahini
New Episode of 'Your Last Meal' out now!
My first exposure to Eden Grinshpan was a photograph on Instagram: she was extremely pregnant with her first daughter, and her bare, bulging belly was positively wall-papered with huge slices of pizza. She was biting into a slice of pepperoni, her face bathed in pure bliss. I instantly wanted to be her friend.
Eden is sunny and silly, host of Top Chef Canada, and author of the contemporary middle eastern cookbook Eating Out Loud, featuring dishes like tahini Caesar salad and a Sesame Schnitzel Sandwich with Harissa Honey. She shares her adventurous journey from high school troublemaker to culinary television personality!
Like me, Eden is tahini obsessed (I special order cases of tahini from Israel!), so I chat with the CEO and co-founder of Soom Foods (makers of delicious tahini) about the history of the ancient condiment, and alllll the tasty things you can make with the half empty jar of tahini lingering in the back of your fridge (there is life beyond hummus!).
There are still a few spaces open in Thursday’s (12/22/22) potato latke Zoom cooking class! Learn to make crispy, lacy edged latkes in your own cozy kitchen.
