Many MANY years ago, my old-buddy-old-pal FeeFee suggested I create a map and share every steak house, scoop shop, pizza joint and taqueria mentioned on my podcast Your Last Meal, so she could actually EAT at the places we talk about on the show.
It was a brilliant idea, and I am a brilliant procrastinator. But after many MANY years, the map is here!
Save this map! And please let me now if you visit any of these spots — tag me on Instagram or send me a message: rachel.belle@cascadepbs.org
The restaurants are scattered across the country and the globe, but a LOT of them are in New York City, where you could easily create a Your Last Meal food crawl!
Here are some of the places on the map I have visited:
If you’re in New York City, try a scoop of Greta Gerwig’s favorite ice cream — Ooey Gooey Butter Cake from Ample Hills Creamery.

When you’re in Portland, Oregon, you must dine at Kachka; I interviewed the owner of this fantastic, charming Russian restaurant on the Maria Sharapova episode.

If you’re wine tasting in eastern Washington, swing by Kyle MacLachlan’s Walla Walla winery, Persued By Bear. Four hours west, visit Twede’s Cafe, where he enjoyed a “damn fine cup of coffee” and a slice of cherry pie as Special Agent Dale Cooper on Twin Peaks.

If I take a red-eye to New York, I take the train directly to Russ & Daughters, the 110+ year old appetizing shop in the Lower East Side, to get the best bagel in the world (see caption). I got to chat with the owner of this institution for the Taylor Dayne episode.

Please enjoy and let me know if I missed anything so I can add it to the map.
New episode of Your Last Meal (featuring Cafe Mogador, on the new map!):
Celebrity astrologer Tali Edut uses star signs, not Michelin stars, to choose the perfect restaurant.
Tali and her twin sister Ophira are longtime astrologers for Elle magazine, matchmakers on the Amazon Prime show Cosmic Love and best-selling authors; their new book is The Astrology Advantage: Use Your Horoscope for Personal and Professional Success.
Tali lives in Seattle, so we got to meet in real life and have a chat around my dining room table, which is where we learned we have a LOT in common. One thing we don’t share is a passion for astrology and horoscopes, a world I don’t pay much attention to. But Tali did my chart and I was surprised to see it was about 80% accurate — it pretty much nailed my personality and tendencies!
Tali grew up in a multicultural household eating lots of classic Middle Eastern dishes.
When she moved to New York City, she found comfort at Cafe Mogador, a
Moroccan-Jewish-owned restaurant open since 1983. I chat with the second-generation owner of the East Village favorite about what makes their Greek salad so special (hint: za’atar croutons!).
And when Tali writes horoscopes, she chooses to work at restaurants that represent each Zodiac sign – listen in to see if your tastes match your horoscope!
Have a great weekend!
